Why doesn't my cat love me

The cat, provided that it is treated with respect, patience and affection, is a furry that little by little will feel very good with the company of its human family, since it will immediately realize that its personal space is protected, and that he only has to approach her to get what he wants. But there may be certain times when you don't get the right treatment.

If that were to happen, surely there will be those who wonder why doesn't my cat love me. To find the answer to that question, we will have to look for the origin of this behavior. Later, it will be easier for us to regain the feline's affection.

Just met you

If you have just adopted the cat, it is normal that he distrusts you and, of course, does not give you any sign of affection, and that he even buffs you and / or walks away every time you try to get close. You have to think that until very recently perhaps he was with his mother and siblings, or with some people who were in charge of taking care of him.

Just you have to give it time, and show him that now you are his family. A family that loves him and will do whatever it takes to make him happy. To do this, watch it and start understand their body language. Invite him to play with a cat toy or a rope every day, and don't make loud noises so as not to scare him. Of course, and although it is obvious, you should give him water and food daily, and leave him alone while he is eating, sleeping or relieving himself.

You have done something wrong

Often the human blames others for something he has done. With regard to cats, if their furry urinates on the bed (for example), the person will tend to think that they have done it to punish them. If, in addition, in the next few days, you begin to treat the feline in a bad way, either ignoring it, yelling or hitting it (something that, by the way, is a crime of animal abuse), the cat will not only urinate more times outside the tray, but also stop trusting that person.

To avoid this, you have to treat it with respect and patience, from day one. And wonder why he has done that. Continuing with the example, when a cat does not use its tray it can be for several reasons: the litter is dirty, the tray is in a noisy room or near food, or, more seriously, it has a health problem (cystitis, for example). In these situations, and in reality, always, we have to act as what we are: their caretakers, and take him to the vet whenever necessary.

You are not getting the care you need

When we have a cat at home but we do not take care of it as it deserves, it will tend to feel very sad and lonely. The longer the situation continues, the less affection he will have for us. Therefore, before even adopting it we have to bear in mind that a cat is a living being, that it will ask us for attention almost constantly (except when it sleeps), and that we must take responsibility for it.

A cat is not a decorative object. Not even an object. It is an animal that, if it is not kept company and given food and water every day, will not live happy or long. If we are not clear on this, it is best not to adopt it.
