Why do you have to play with the cat? That is a question that can surprise and intrigue at the same time; Not in vain, for a long time we have been told that the feline is a solitary animal, that practically takes care of itself. Reality, however, prevails over myth as the days go by and the bored furry man begins to engage in unwanted behaviors, such as scratching furniture or "attacking" our feet.
And is that living with a cat is sharing life with a living being that needs a series of care, including displays of affection and, of course, also playing.
Although obviously a child is not the same as a cat, when it comes to play they are very similar. If a child gets bored, what does he do? Exactly: he will do everything possible to get the attention of his parents, and if he does not get it "for good", he will have behaviors that they will not like, such as perhaps yelling, messing up his toys, and so on.
Y, a cat that gets bored, what does it do? Try to get the attention of your caregiver- He will approach him, rub against his leg, meow, climb on his lap. If you don't succeed, then two things can happen: you will be left in a boring corner waiting to "hunt" something, or will start to behave in a way that we will not like, such as biting or scratching things and / or people.
Play is very important to cats. Through him the human-cat relationship is strengthened while both have a good time. In addition, humans can teach them that there are things they cannot do, such as scratch o to bite. And that is not to mention that a sedentary feline will be an animal that will gain weight, which in turn will cause health problems (diabetes, hypertension, among others).
So now you know: if you want your friend to be happy, don't hesitate. Dedicate about three sessions of about 10-15 minutes each to play with him.
