All of us who live with a cat know how naughty it can be. And it is that we can be watching a movie for example and, suddenly, we hear something that has fallen to the ground »mysteriously». Let's see what happened, and we find our feline looking at us with an "I was not" face.
But… Why do cats throw things on the ground? If you have also ever asked yourself this and have no idea why they behave like this, we will try to reveal your doubt.
Boredom / needs attention
Cats that spend a lot of time alone and / or doing nothing are animals that, by not releasing all the energy they accumulate, get bored, frustrated ... and throw things to the ground to get the attention of some human. But why? Well, because they have learned that we react to the noise of falling things, so they will not hesitate to do it over and over again until they get our attention.
To prevent them from doing so, we have the right and duty to play with them at least three times a day for about 20-30 minutes, with cat toys (never with the hands or feet, and never making sudden movements).
It bothers
That deviating objects is not very catlike sometimes let's say ... 🙂 Especially if they are overweight, they will choose to throw the objects on the ground to be able to continue on their way with peace of mind. In this way, it is likely that we will have to get up often to pick up what they are throwing away, although it is best to take them to the vet to tell us what we can do to lose weight.
And we must not forget that excess weight is dangerous for cats, since it makes them run a greater risk of suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, and other diseases related to obesity.
I hope it has been useful to you 🙂.
