Race or mongrel?
Well if you ask me I'm going to call you mestizo. Why? There are several reasons: you save two lives (the one of the cat you take and the one that will take its place in the shelter), you change that furry's world for the better, and also the animal is in good health by not belonging to any breed that has been selected for any purpose. But the one that has the most weight, for me, is the following: with love and patience you get an excellent friendship… for free (you only pay a small price for the microchip, vaccinations and castration, in the event that it has to be castrated).
Be careful, I am not saying that I do not like purebred cats, but rather that if what you want is simply a good friend, before going to look for him at a kennel, I recommend you visit an animal shelter or shelter, and let the cat himself surprise you. However, if you like a specific breed be sure to look for professional breeders, that they worry about the furry ones and that they are able to answer all your questions.
Kitten or adult cat?
It will depend on the patience you have and the time you can dedicate to it. The kitten is very naughty: He spends a lot of the day (and night) running around, and he can even drop things for the sheer pleasure of it. Everything is new to him and of course he needs to explore it, touch it, bite it, smell it. At this stage, he needs his human family to be especially patient, and to teach him not to scratch and bite. But he is charming, especially when he asks for cuddles .
The adult cat, on the other hand, already has a determined personality. You've probably had a rough past, and when you finally find yourself living in a good home, you'll be very grateful (although it may also take time to adjust). He won't be so eager to play with the furry, but that doesn't mean you don't have to play with him. Every day you should do it, for example with a ball or a rope, so that it stays in good shape. And, of course, you have to give him a lot of love, without weighing him down.
Male or female cat?
Either. Male cats it is true that they tend to be a little independent when compared to female cats. But any of them can be very affectionate and ask for pampering and company.
