How to choose the cat food?

Choosing what your cat is going to eat is, from my point of view, even more complicated than buying him a scratching post or a bed. There are so many varieties that it is difficult to choose one! Because in addition, of course, one thing is what it looks like to us, and quite another what it will look like to the feline. But in order not to make mistakes, it is very important to always keep in mind what we have already commented before: that it is a carnivore.

Therefore, before choosing a food , you should check the ingredient label and make sure it contains at least 70% meat . Fresh meat is best, but dehydrated meat is also acceptable. However, if you see that it includes "flours of…", "by-products", or any type of grain (corn is usually the most common) and/or gluten, it's best to leave it at the store or feed it to your herbivorous livestock if you have any.

And is that for a feed to be cheap it must be made with cheap ingredients, such as corn. Do I think dry or wet?

This depends a lot on the individual, as well as the cat, of course. Big or small bags?

From experience, I recommend buying large bags , because although it might seem like a significant expense at first, it actually saves you a considerable amount of money in the short term . Plus, they often have great deals, and if the food is good quality, it will fill your dog up faster, so a bag can last you a long time.

More expensive pet food isn't always better . In fact, you can sometimes find supposedly high-quality brands with less-than-ideal ingredients that are still sold at very high prices. Again, don't be fooled. Read the ingredient label and decide which pet food to buy based on that information.

But be careful: don't get too hung up on it . If you don't have the budget for a truly premium food, look at mid-range or even budget brands, or better yet: give them natural food. Leftovers, as long as they're boneless meat or fish and don't contain any other ingredients (like garlic, onion, etc.), won't harm them at all; quite the opposite, in fact.
